The annual RIMS conference, Riskworld is only a few weeks away, and the Brokerslink team will once again be exhibiting, bringing with us over 35 of our partners and affiliates from around world.
With over 10,000 attendees registered, 400+ exhibitors and more than 300 speakers, the RIMS experience can be a little overwhelming for first-timers. To help you make the best of your time in Atlanta at the end of the month, we’ve put together 5 top tips to help you maximise the opportunities to network, learn and enjoy RIMS 2023!
- Plan ahead
Take time to review the conference schedule and plan which sessions you want to attend. This will help you make the most of your time at the event and ensure that you don't miss any sessions that are particularly relevant to your interests.
- Book meetings in advance
During RIMS everyone has a tight schedule, so before the event, reach out to your targets and schedule meetings beforehand. This will ensure that you have time to connect with the people you're interested in speaking with and maximize your experience at the event.
- Network, network & network
The conference has a bustling energy and gathers key names from across the industry, so seize it! Attend after-conference social events and introduce yourself to other attendees. Be sure to exchange business cards or LinkedIn profiles and spend some time chatting with the people you meet. You never know when a chance encounter can turn into a valuable professional connection.
Pro-tip: make sure you RSVP to all the social events once you get invited, some have a limited number of participants.
- Don’t be shy to explore the exhibition area
The exhibition area is a great opportunity for you to learn about new products and services in the industry. Take the time to visit booths and introduce yourself to vendors. This can be a great way to stay up to date on the latest trends in the industry while learning about new tools and resources that can help you in your work. Also, don’t forget pick up some giveaways while you are at it 😊
- Follow up
After the event is over, don't forget to follow up with the people you met and the information you learned. Send out thank-you notes or emails to those you networked with and review your notes to identify action items that you can take back to your workplace. This will help you make the most out of the knowledge and connections you gained at the event.
We hope you find these tips helpful. If you’re going to RIMS and would like to meet with the Brokerslink team, we’ll be at booth #2325, contact us in advance if you’d like to secure a slot.
