20 years of impact: an interview with Grégory Allard

In part two of our special series of interviews with some of the people who have made Brokerslink a success over twenty years, we speak to Brokerslink’s Vice President, and the CEO of Filhet Allard, Grégory Allard.

Grégory, can you tell us about some of Brokerslink’s major milestones of the last twenty years?

Over the past two decades, Brokerslink has established itself as a pivotal player in the global insurance brokerage industry. One of the most important milestones was its transformation from an association into a company after the completion of its private stock offering in 2014. This moment has improved our value proposition, enabling us to offer a more comprehensive range of services to all stakeholders: partners, insurance carriers, risk managers and clients.

The second milestone was in 2020 with the implementation of our digital platform, SPACE B developed together with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions to administrate global insurance programs. This innovation has enhanced collaboration and communication among our community to better serve our clients. It also provides material proof that we are aligned, and share common practices to the highest level of servicing.

Finally, the expansion into over 130 countries with more than 45,000 professionals marks a major achievement, demonstrating our global reach and attractivity.

How has the global insurance market evolved since 2004? And how did Brokerslink contribute to it?

Since 2004, the global insurance market has undergone significant changes, driven by technological breaks, increased market consolidation and evolving customer expectations.

The rise of digitalization has revolutionized how insurance products are developed, distributed, and managed. Brokerslink has contributed to this evolution by integrating innovative technology companies into its ecosystem fostering a culture of continuous awareness among its partners and affiliates.

Brokerslink also offers clients and carriers a unique experience of broking thanks to the combination of our global capabilities with strong local knowledge and expertise. In this evolving market, our dynamic reflects the relevance of our business and market strategy, but it is also the combination of our respective talents that creates value for our clients and our insurance partners.

How has the role of independent broking changed over the years?

The role of independent broking has seen a significant transformation over the years. Initially, independent brokers primarily focused on local markets and traditional insurance products. However, with globalization and technological transformation, their role has expanded to include a broader scope of services such as risk management, captive management, and data analytics. Independent brokers now play a crucial role in helping clients navigate complex international markets and offer bespoke solutions.

Brokerslink has been at the forefront of this change, providing a platform for independent brokers, specialists and technology companies to collaborate, share knowledge and access resources that improve their competitiveness and service delivery.

What are some of your proudest Brokerslink moments?

Our annual global conference is very important as it brings together leaders from the risk management community from all around the world and it has always been very instructive and inspiring. I was proud to host the global conference in my home city of Bordeaux just before the Covid Period and it remains one of my best moments before the lockdown.

However, I am above all proud of what has been achieved by our community, but especially by José Manuel, our chairman and the Brokerslink team. They have driven us over the last two decades in such a fantastic journey. I would like to express my gratitude for their commitment and dedication to this amazing project. As we look forward to the next 20 years, Brokerslink will continue to empower our partners, embrace change, and drive excellence in the global insurance market.
