Barbara
de Bruin
Biography
Barbara holds a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Business from EHL Lausanne, Switzerland. She began her professional journey in hospitality management & audit, with roles at the Ritz-Carlton in Barcelona, Spain and Palm Beach, USA, before moving into recruitment at Adecco in Geneva, Switzerland (2000–2002).
In 2010, Barbara moved to Brussels, where she spent the next 16 years building a career in PR and corporate communications, holding roles at Samsung Electronics, spanning Brussels, Amsterdam and time in Seoul, and at Rémy Cointreau group, managing the LOUIS XIII cognac brand across the Benelux. Across those years she also worked with several communications agencies and founded her own, LTH Limited, which she ran for nine years. More recently, she was Director of Operations at ICHEC Alumni, leading communications, partnerships and community engagement for a network of +18k business school graduates.
As Heraclitus put it, "the only constant in life is change" a principle Barbara has built her career on, moving fluidly across sectors, cultures and languages (French, Dutch, English, with working German and Spanish).
That same instinct shows up outside work too: Into the Wild, both the book and the movie, remains one of her favorites, for its pursuit of a true self through freedom and adaptation to nature, rather than the reverse.
A proud mother of three young adults based between Brussels, Paris and Switzerland, Barbara comes from a thoroughly cosmopolitan family and on June 28th, she added Porto to that map, joining Brokerslink for this new chapter.
